As the holidays draw near and grocery lists begin to fill with ingredients for a Thanksgiving feast, severe hunger suffered by far too many becomes that much more apparent. A shocking one out of every six Americans don’t have enough food to eat–and tomorrow kicks off National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week, which runs from November 12 to November 22, 2011. Do your part by participating in WhyHunger’s annual Hungerthon. Check out their site for ways to get involved all month, including bidding on great items they have up for auction (like an autographed Kenny Chesney guitar). And mark your calendar for Saturday, November 19, and Tuesday, November 22, when the campaign will host national radio broadcasts to drum up support. Call in at 800-5-HUNGRY and donate whatever you can–just $10 will help feed 10 children for one day.
